Magazine

Many themes have been tried and tested scrap booking techniques and because it doesn’t have a strict set of rules, it is just about the fun involved. The most familiar subjects is monthly magazine scrap booking which mirrors the layout generally seen in various kinds of magazine in the market. Magazine scrap booking needs the use of images in addition too sections of text and embellishments scattered about the pages. Apart from the photos, written text, and chosen adornments, it also adds the use of patterned pages with corresponding themes and colors. However, before you begin, you have to turn over initially what materials you will require so here is an elementary list of must have’s.

Book - the first item you need to consider is the location where you will set all your photos and embellishments - the scrapbook album. You will need to make up your mind the dimensions of the album you need to work on and to settle the amount of items you require. The usual size of albums most scrap bookers use is twelve by twelve but it is up to you how large or small you want your scrapbook. Apart from the size of the photo album, you will also have to think about the color and the pattern that will work for the theme.

Additional pages - as you still don’t know how many pages you’ll need for the album, it will be a good idea to use refill pages. In the market, refill pages are generally traded in various sizes, so it is best if you pick up a few packs when purchasing album refills to guarantee that you have the same quality to those pages you have already bought.

A set of good scissors - scrap booking requires a lot of cutting so it is best that you buy a decent, good quality pair of scissors. It is advisable they have very fine ends and are easy to hold and to use. Even though extra fine scissors are certain to be a little more pricey compared to the ordinary sets out there, this will guarantee you can use a pair that are dedicated exclusively to your pastime.

Glues - in the marketplace now, there are numerous forms of gums so for novices, it is best if you use an acid-free paste that is produced for card and photos. You may wish to consider brands such as 3L Click ‘n’ Stick Mounting Squares, Herma Dotto Removable, and Herma Vario Wheel Dispenser as well.

Card stock, impressed and specialty papers - just like in choosing your scrapbook album, you need to choose paper that will go with the colors and the subject you have selected. Try to purchase card at a number of local dedicated stores because they will sell single sheets for each page.

Some diary pens - it is best to use acid-free, irreversible, pens that have special tips for writing by hand particularly if you are doing magazine scrapbooking.
